01INTRODUCTION

This research group, led by Professor Hongguang Liu, is dedicated to the study of quantum gravity theory and its related interdisciplinary frontiers. We aim to explore the quantum nature of spacetime through multi-faceted and multi-level approaches, seeking new understandings of fundamental puzzles such as the origin of the Universe and the black hole information paradox.

  • Non-Perturbative Construction of Quantum Gravity: Advancing non-perturbative and background-independent approaches to quantum gravity, developing their mathematical framework and applying them to cosmology and black holes.

  • Quantum Field Theory Methods and Numerical Simulations: Employing non-perturbative methods and tools from Quantum Field Theory tools and developing advanced numerical/computational techniques to support our theoretical work.

  • Classical and Modified Gravity Theories: studying modified theories as both classical extensions and potential low-energy limits of quantum gravity.
